Here's a short guide on installing the php 4 memcached extension from source. I write it as a reference as I couldn't find some precise instructions on this.
Download and extract the source code:
system:~# wget http://pecl.php.net/get/memcache-2.1.2.tgz
system:~# tar xvfz memcache-2.1.2.tgz
Prepare the extension for compiling:
system:~# cd memcache-2.1.2
system:~/memcache-2.1.2# phpize
Configure, make and make install:
system:~/memcache-2.1.2# ./configure
system:~/memcache-2.1.2# make
system:~/memcache-2.1.2# make install
If configure fails with the following error: configure: error: Cannot find php_session.h (as it did on ubuntu and debian for me) then you'll have to create a symbolic link to /usr/include/php4 called /usr/include/php. If you don't have one of those directories, then you're probably missing the php4-dev package.

A while ago I posted how I was using php and curl to do automatic image uploading to Drupal and geolocating images. Some people requested the script, others arrive here from Google by searching about the same thing, so here is a small tutorial on how to do it.
First of all you'll need the libcurl extension to php installed. The code snippets I'll present here might work if you'll convert them to Snoopy, but libcurl is faster.
What we'll do: we are going to login into Drupal and we are going to perform different operations.

After breaking my promise to Otis a couple of times, I finally found some spare time to update simpyapi.
Changelog:
- fixed a bug in SimpleParser.class.php
- updated the tag code to match the changes in Simpy's REST API
- added a new method, SearchEx, which allows extended searching: pass the query and the parameters
- wrote a couple of examples
- gave it a version: 0.1 :)
Get it from SourceForge: simpyapi-php.0.1.
The Drupal module still needs some polishing. Also, a Wordpress plugin is planned and investigated.

I did some modifications today on the Simpy module. Now it has some ajaxy effects on the tagcloud page.
Go ahead, click on Bookmarks and then click the tags. I used moo.fx, moo.ajax and prototype.lite.
The next version will have an ajaxy search too.

Some people requested it and I got bored to wait for my Drupal CVS account to be fixed, so I'm releasing the sources here. They are in Beta and might not work fully as expected.
I'm very busy at the moment so I didn't test them very much. Also, the docs were written very fast and are pretty slim. Sorry about that. I will fix them next week and I also hope to come up with a Wordpress plugin till then.
Get them here:

- Dreamweaver (in modul sursa) - bun pentru all in one, insa suportul javascript si php cam lasa de dorit
- Maguma OpenSource - mi-a placut mult, dar crapa in draci.

Lots have happened lately which prevented me from finishing the module. I'm having second thoughts now about it: wouldn't be better to make the module create a custom node type, and integrate that into the Drupal nodes? Right now everything is in a custom database.
The scenario would be like this: install the module and create a taxonomy for it to use (or use a more general one) and tell it to. Configure the http engine, user and password, and synchronize between Simpy and your website.
This integration of the bookmarks would mean that you could use other modules to act on the bookmarks (su
