More to come in a week or so. And because of this it's also time to update the Simpy php api. Looking back at the code I wrote two years ago is not an easy sight.

Simpy Dashboard Widget 0.1

• First release.
• Requires OS X 10.4.3+.
• Displays your latest links.
• Lets you search by tag or tags (separated by comma).
• Attempts to make it use all links rather than a user's links were unsuccessful. This is because the RSS feed for all user's links is huge and loading and parsing it took too much time.
• Grab it here.

Simpy Firefox Extension 0.4

• Changed the name to SFE. In the Linux tradition it means SFE Firefox Extension and not Simpy Firefox Extension as you might think. The name change was done since Simpy implied it being official, which is not.
• Updated for Firefox 3 beta.
• Added the possibility to use a popup when adding bookmarks. Warning: popup does not have group info.
• Some code cleanup.

The iBook has been brought from the dead thanks to some kind souls, Amedeo and Viorel. And of course there's a stack of work left from the two months hiatus I was forced to take.

Sorry for not responding to the comments and to the emails. I'll get back to the people who wrote me in a couple of days.

Here's some updates:

1. I have finally decided on a thesis subject. Details will be left for the moment, but it will be a web based application built with Drupal (of course), Python, Ruby and Solr / Lucene. Web 2.0 and all the buzzword yadda yadda.
2. I'm learning Ruby because of 1.
3. I'm investigating Solr, Twisted and EventMachine.
4. I've built a Solr php class which works with php 4 as well (the one on the Solr page is php 5 only). I might release it if the people from work allow me.
5. I've resumed work on the Simpy extension. Some first steps were taken into developing a osx dashboard widget. Right now there's latest items and a semi functional search.
6. Lazy registration for Drupal 5 is almost done.
7. I've ported memcached integration module to Drupal 4.7. I'll release it this week unless the other guy who also did this beats me to it. :)

I upgraded the Simpy extension to work with the newly released Firefox 2.0. It has been submitted to addons.mozilla.com and it's waiting approval.

In the meantime, you can grab it from here: simpy-0.2-fx.xpi. Remember that you need to add my website to the trusted websites list to install it from here.

- Mi s-a cerut, de la autorul unui celebru blog romanesc, sa nu mai comentez la el pe site. Exista si un motiv, dar nu mi-a fost comunicat. Deh, cand ai traficul mic, nu meriti sa ti se dea nici o explicatie. :)
- Kinder au devenit niste prostii. Oule de ciocolata au devenit un picut de crema cu doua guguloaie.
- Am reusit sa-i dau de cap lui K2 si bug-ului enervant care ma oprea in a o folosi pe site. Cu ocazia asta majoritatea imaginilor din posturi nu mai functioneaza. Pentru ca solutia era sa dezactivez filtrul de imagini inline.
- M-am apucat de tradus Simpy in romana.
- Lucrez la un widget pentru Dashboard-ul din Mac OS X pentru acelasi Simpy.
- Am inceput sa portez modulul de Drupal pentru integrarea cu Simpy.
- Avem server la Amazon EC2. Detaliile aventurilor noastre (momentan mai mult ale adminului Gremlin) pe Elastic8.
- Bornedbored si-a sters blogul. Pacat, imi era simpatic. In acelasi registru, Duda.
- A aparut "The Cell" de King in romana.
- Mi s-a stricat memoria video de la iBook si acum scriu cu niste frumoase artefacte verzi pe ecran. E ultima data cand mai iau ceva fara garantie.

I made two videos showing the configuration and the usage of the Simpy extension. They were made with Macromedia Captivate and while I'm not perfectly satisfied with them (some images keep not being recorded) I'm releasing them.

Here's the first release of the Simpy Firefox extension, based on the de.lirio.us one with a couple of extra things.

To install it, click here: simpy-0.1.xpi (you have to add my website into the "Allowed websites to install software" list to install this). Alternatively, you can download it and install it from there (drag and drop the file on a browser window).
