Simpy tools update

Simpy Dashboard Widget 0.1

Simpy Dashboard Widget Screenshot
  • First release.
  • Requires OS X 10.4.3+.
  • Displays your latest links.
  • Lets you search by tag or tags (separated by comma).
  • Attempts to make it use all links rather than a user’s links were unsuccessful. This is because the RSS feed for all user’s links is huge and loading and parsing it took too much time.
  • Grab it here.

Simpy Firefox Extension 0.4

  • Changed the name to SFE. In the Linux tradition it means SFE Firefox Extension and not Simpy Firefox Extension as you might think. The name change was done since Simpy implied it being official, which is not.
  • Updated for Firefox 3 beta.
  • Added the possibility to use a popup when adding bookmarks. Warning: popup does not have group info.
  • Some code cleanup.
  • Grab it here or, when it’s approved, here.

A humble request for a Firefox 3.0 compatible extension. It’s been less than 24 hours and I already miss it.

As for the dashboard widget, I had no idea but I’ve just downloaded it and figure it’s going to rock. Thanks for doing that!

…better than to post my previous comment until after I installed the widget.

A little feedback for your consideration. It would be great if I could dial down (or up) the font size to fit my needs as well as resize the window smaller (or larger). In my case, the widget dominates the dashboard taking more room than I’d like and the font is large enough to read from across the room.

Having said that, it works as advertised. A differently convenient way to sift through my links.

(The search operation does not behave as I expected, but I see that’s under Simpy’s control and not yours. In my case, when I search for “foo, bar” I expected a boolean OR set of results but it’s close to an AND… but I can see not even that is true. I have many links tagged with foo AND bar, but a search for “foo, bar” returns only two instead of roughly a dozen such links. Confusing at best… but I’ll direct those comments to Simpy as it’s not your issue.)

http://voidberg.org/contact has an error.

I’ll be in town Monday the 23rd. Was interested if you were possibly free for a small group dinner. Email me, if you would.
